Director General Partner, InterWest Partners LLCArnold L. Oronsky, Ph.D., has been with InterWest Partners since 1994. As a Ph.D. in immunology and senior lecturer at the Department of Medicine at Johns Hopkins Medical School, Dr. Oronsky brings a deep understanding of oncology, infectious diseases, cardiovascular diseases, the central nervous system, metabolic diseases and vaccines to finding and investing in successful life sciences companies. Prior to joining InterWest, Dr. Oronsky was the vice president for discovery research for the Lederle Laboratories division of American Cyanamid Company, where he directed the research for new drugs.
Currently, Dr. Oronsky serves as a member of the board of directors for the following publicly held life science companies: Anesiva, Aspreva Pharmaceuticals, Dynavax Technologies and Metabasis Therapeutics. In addition, Dr. Oronsky serves on the board of directors for several privately held companies, including AkaRx, Applied Genetic Technologies Corporation (AGTC), Diatos S.A., Kanisa Pharmaceuticals, and MacroGenics.
Dr. Oronsky holds a Ph.D. in immunology from Columbia University and has published more than 125 articles in scientific journals.
